Carl Alva Siefert

	Carl Alva Siefert, 93, DuQuoin, passed away Friday, June 29, 2001 at Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
	Mr. Siefert was born June 19, 1908 to Alva and Emma (Hemmer) Siefert.
	Carl is survived by one son, Thomas D. Siefert and wife Jacqueline; two daughters, Anna Louise Eichhorn and husband charles and Pamela Kay Pereira and husband Anton; eight grandchildren, Sabrina S. Miller and husband George, John T. Siefert and wife Sydne, R. Eric Siefert, David F. Eichhorn and wife Gerrie, Denise A. Swetland and husband Mike, Darby R. Mathis and husband Kerry, William C. Gross and Nancy J. Day; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
	He was a retired coal miner of United Electric.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church in DuQuoin and the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight.  He was also a member of the Fourth Degree.
	He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Wellington; his parents and two brothers, Joseph Siefert and Edward Siefert.  he has one surviving sister-in-law, Zelma Bookstaver.
	Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund and the American Heart Association.
	Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Harry Jerome officiating.  Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
	Friends called Monday morning after 8 a.m. at Maxton Funeral Chapel.  The Rosary was said at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
